Prayer of a Stray author unknown
Dear God, Please send me somebody who'll care!
I'm tired of running, I'm sick with despair.
My body is aching, it's so racked with pain,
And Dear God, I pray as I run in the rain,
That someone will love me and give me a home.
A warm cozy bed and a big juicy bone.
My last owner tied me all day in the yard
Sometimes with no water and God that was hard!
So I chewed my leash God, and I ran away
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now God, I'm tired and hungry and cold.
And I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old.
They've chased me with sticks and hit me with stones
While I run the streets just looking for bones!
I'm not really bad God, Please help if you can,
For I have become just a "Victim of Man!"
I'm wormy Dear God, and I'm ridden with fleas and
All that I want is an owner to please!
If you find one for me God, I'll try to be good
And I won't chew their shoes, but I'll do as I should.
I'll love them, protect them and try to obey
When they tell me to sit, to lie down or to stay!
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
Cause I'm getting so weak and I'm so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
Cause I'm so afraid God, that I'm gonna die!
And I've got so much love and devotion to give,
That I should be given a new chance to live.
So Dear God PLEASE, Please answer my Prayer and
Send me somebody who WILL really care...

Brasco and Betty: Way Before Puppies
Brasco wasn't expecting this little girl puppy. Jim and I went to the lake to visit my cousin and on the way we stopped at a small pet store. There were 2 puppies in a carrier. One was a teacup and one was a long haired Chihuahua. The teacup was really too small for us, so Jim picked up the other one and never put her down. We bought her and took her home to meet Brasco and Clifton. Actually, she met my cousins and a cat that was staying with them, first. The cat was kind of big and Betty was little, but like most Chihuahuas, she thought she was just as big as the cat. The cat stayed inside all the time, so he didn't even know what a dog was and Betty, being Betty as we know her now, didn't really care what it was. She had been in the pet store around other dogs, cats, birds, so she just jumped right in. Like I said, the cat didn't know what to think. Betty promptly ate out of the cats bowl. My cousin got a box for her and she got in the box.

The big thing was wondering how Brasco would react. He had been the only dog, living with my dad, my son and me. He was 4 years old when we got Betty. We put her down on the floor and they stared at each other for a while. Brasco really seemed to like her and Betty was a bouncing baby, so she was all over him. Brasco watched over her like a mother would. lol I was really amazed at his reaction. We got a bigger box for her to sleep in and he would watch me every night while I put her "in the box." That became our new saying "in the box" because Brasco knew what that meant. I would say are you ready to put Betty "in the box"? He knew she was going to sleep. Even after all these years, (Betty just turned 7 years old) we can still say "in the box" and Brasco perks his ears up.
After 3 litters of puppies, we figure Brasco really is ready to put Betty "in the box".

Painted Beer Bottle/Etsy
This bottle has been thoroughly washed and label removed. The background has been blotted on with a sponge, so its kind of "blotty". I thought it looked kinda kewl that way, so I left it. Most of my bottles are like that.
There are random designs, lines and dots. Off white, turquoise and brown. The top has been hole-punched for a stem decor and it has a felt "necklace" just for this bottle. You can have necklace and/or stems or fake flowers.
("necklace" is included) **
Acrylic paints are used and a coat of decoupage glue and a coat of shellac holds it on and makes for a great shine.
12 oz beer bottle/cap is glued down

Chee Chee and Fuzzy-face
Chee and Fuzzy-face didn't know what to think of each other at first, but they are quite the pair now. They play/fight all the time and she leans on him and he doesn't seem to mind. He used to kinda growl and get up real fast if she touched him, but hes used to her now. I looked over there earlier today because FF was squeaking. He was dreaming, most probably about being outside chasing big girl dogs or being on the road in the big truck, anyway, Chee Chee was watching him.

Fuzzy-face, or as hes better known "the girl magnet" , has a mohawk and he looks like his dad. He, just about every time, closes his eyes when he sees me with the camera. Hes got big ol purdy eyes, like his dad.

This is Betty (mom to ALL the babies)

Betty is a long-haired Chihuahua. She has had 3 litters and not one puppy looks like her. (we only had 1 survivor in the 3rd litter, so unfortunately she may have had some looking like her there) She has red, light brown, black, slick hair or hairy puppies. Some get big (8-13 lbs) , some have stayed small. I know there is one puppy that looks just like Fuzzy-face. He only weighs 8 1/2 lbs, I think its all hair. lol Hes a cutie. Anyway, Betty is a good mom. Chee Chee was the one left in the 3rd litter, so she had no one to play with, sooo she plays with Mom. Shes getting kinda big, so its a little rough on Mom lately. We have introduced Chee to her dad and the boys, so they all get along. She barks (or squeaks) at the Fuzzy-face. So cute. She climbs all over Dynamite, her look-a-like. They seem protective of her.
